From time immemorial, man has always be faced with what
seem to be the most difficult question; "How Do I Become Rich?” There are many answers to this question.
If you want to become rich, you need to choose the answer that best works for you.
There are a thousand and one ways to become rich. The following are some of the ways people become rich.
1) Marrying someone for his/her money
This is a popular way of becoming rich in contemporary African society especially for the ladies. This has caused unbalance in the society as all the beautiful girls are shying away from the average guys.
2) Being a crook
The problem will being a crook is that you can not be a
crook in isolation, hence, you need to associate with other crooks. Business is based on trust. How will your customers trust you when your partners are crooks?
If you make a honest mistake in business, people overlook it and give you a second chance but once you are tagged a crook, the most honest mistake will be the most coined dupe.
3) Being Greedy
This is another way of getting rich that that has sent
ambitious men into their early graves. Some people have
become highly indebted to greed.
For instance, greed has become the major bane to
success in forex trading in the Nigerian society. Many
fund mangers have now run into hidings because the
could not afford to pay the promise they made to investors.
4) Being cheap
This is another popular vehicle people employ to become
rich. People who try to become rich by being cheap are
those who often try to live below their means rather
than finding ways to expand their means-I call them the
miserable misers.
The problem with this method if being rich is that in
the long run, you are still cheap. We have heard
stories of those who hoard money but yet died wretched
just like the popular Nollywood movie-"Died Wretched,
Buried in N3.5M Casket"
I am not a music fan but there a buzz earlier this year
in the media about a wealth lady from a popular music
star family (probably in the MJ family?) who pilfered
in shopping arcade.
5) Through handwork
Diligence pays. If you are not lazy, then you are a
candidate to riches. Inasmuch as hardworking is a good
way of becoming rich, working hard for a small salary
is bad else the bricklayer should have been one of the
richest profession that ever existed.
If you find yourself in a well paying profession, then
you need not to only work hard but smart because those
are the pillars of success to our present ever dynamic
world.
6) being exceptionally talented or gifted
Kaffy, the lady moderator in The Multina Dance Hall is
an example of an exceptionally gifted dancer...who
spent years developing this gift. Yet being gifted or
talented is no guarantee to becoming rich. Why? Because
the word is filled with people who never become rich.
Take a walk into Nollywood, you will see young, vibrant
and talented actor/actresses who earn far below
standard. Statistics show that 65% of professional
athletes are broke 5 years after retiring from their
high paying profession. Where is Yekini, Amokachi or
Mary Onyali or Chioma Ajunwa.
In the world of money, it takes more than God's given
talent or good looks to become rich. This brings me to
point number 7.
7) Being lucky
Becoming rich by being lucky is somehow related to
becoming rich by being cheap. As we all know, millions
of people bet lots of money on lottery, pool, casinos,
sports, all hoping to hit it big by being lucky. The
popular one in town now is that perpetrated by the GSM
industry asking you to test "WIN" to win N100, 000
instantly.
The problem with this is that if you are lucky to hit
jackpot, it makes you an instant millionaire. This will
increase your spending power and the tendency to lavish
the money thinking you will hit another jackpot in no
time. The money finishes and there is no guarantee of
another jackpot forthcoming. You become broke and
pathetic.
8) Inheriting Money
This is another way people become rich. By the time you
are in the twenties, you should know if there something
for you to inherit else you should start thinking of
other ways to become rich.
In the society we are today, even if you have a wealthy
parents, you need to be luck to smell the wealth after
their demise because of greedy uncles and relations who
want to be rich cheaply. So, to be forearmed, think of
other ways to become rich.
9) By Investing
One of the most common complains about this is that
people say "It takes money to make money" and I ask
myself, "Most it be my money?", "What about OPM?" I
mean Other People's Money. Though there is element of
truth in it because either you are investing your
personal money or OPM, money is money.
A major problem with investing is that you can lose all
the money if you are not financially trained and
educated to be an investor. As many of us has seen, the
Nigerian Stock Exchange is risky and collapsing. I
bought some shares of Oceanic Bank @ N16.50/share in
March 2008. Around May/June, it rose to N31.50 about
100% ROI if I had sold by then. Now, the market value
is less than N6. If I were educated in stocks, I would
have known that 100% ROI in 3 months is a good profit
and would have taken my profits.
10) Building a business
Building a business is the way by which most rich
people become rich. Aliko Dangote built The Dangote
Group, Mike Adenuga built Globacom, The Ibru Family
built The Ibru Foundation (owning Oceanic bank, The
Guardian, Aero contractors and lots of other
investments).
On the foreign scene, Bill Gates built Microsoft,
Michael Dell built Dell computers from his dormitory.
The problem here is that building a business from the
scratch is the riskiest form of becoming rich. This
method attracts the least attention by Nigerians
because of lack of patience.
In Conclusion,
There are many ways to become rich. The best is to find
what works for you and stick to it. But if I tell you
that I can show you where to get $10, 000USD in less
than 2 months of smart working will, you be delighted.
I mean N1.6M in 2 months of smart work. How much will
you may me to get that success map? Or will I give it
out for free? Find out the answers to these questions
